“To my enormous delight, Fiona McIntosh will continue to run a Masterclass Writing Course. I can think of no writer in Australia, or, for that matter elsewhere, who will do so with more professional aptitude and sheer pizzazz! Go for it writers, it will change your life!”Bryce Courtenay
This series of masterclasses connected with the writing of commercial fiction as much as the life and survival of a commercial novelist is hosted by Fiona McIntosh, one of Australia’s pre-eminent storytellers and most popular novelists.
Her mentor, Bryce Courtenay, challenged Fiona to continue his legacy of helping new and emerging writers in the early days of their journey. That was in 2012, just weeks before he passed away.
Commercial Fiction Masterclasses, one day Café Series, Mini and Micro Masterclasses over 3-days in the Clare Valley and the series of Professional Weekends has shown that the McIntosh path blazes a trail for new writers.
There are so many writing courses to choose from today so make sure you set up properly for your best potential success by ticking all the boxes – is your guide published in both formats by quality, well established publishers? Has he/she got a proven track record in commercial writing in print and e-format? How long has your workshop host been in continuous publication in general fiction? Does your course host have a track record with international publishers/foreign translation?
Most attendees arrive as dreamers into the Commercial Fiction Masterclass but leave feeling inspired, motivated and with a new blueprint for the journey ahead. Dozens of graduates are now fulfilling their publishing dream and are now brandishing contracts or have made it into print, with several signed with one of the major global publishers in ANZ.
‘Something magical happens at masterclass’ is a familiar response from the masterclass alumni.
