Fiona McIntosh is the author of 30 best selling commercial novels ranging across various genres including fantasy for adults and for children. But increasingly she is becoming better known for her romantic period adventures with their lush landscapes from around the world and her suspenseful, fast paced storytelling style.

Born and raised on the English south coast, she spent her early childhood in West Africa and its experiences forged her dream to continue travelling to far-flung places. Just turning twenty she moved to Australia where she founded and ran her own marketing and PR consultancy before joining her husband to publish an award-winning travel magazine.

In the Year 2000 Fiona daringly switched careers to become a novelist after attending a week-long fiction masterclass with Bryce Courtenay. In 2012 Bryce asked Fiona to join him for his final masterclass in Canberra during which he handed over the baton and urged her to continue guiding and motivating new writers.

When she’s not traveling the world and researching her next novel, Fiona splits her time between Adelaide, South Australia, and the Huon Valley in Tasmania’s south, although by the end of 2015 she hopes to call an old farmhouse on eight acres in the Clare & Gilbert Valleys of South Australia home.

She writes travel columns, tours regularly around Australia to meet her readers, helps with motivational courses in rural SA, is now escorting readers on exciting international itineraries that she tailors to walk in the footsteps of the characters from her novels from Istanbul to Provence, and continues to be a busy mum to twin sons, a keen baker and animal advocate.
